Why Volatility Matters in Financial Markets

Volatility matters because it reflects uncertainty. When markets are calm, prices tend to move within narrower ranges, and investors often feel more confident about future outcomes. When volatility rises, price movements become less predictable, signaling heightened uncertainty about economic conditions, policy decisions, or financial stability.
